Football brought us together.
Al-Caliph began with family, friends and a regular kickabout. The club’s history now sits alongside a wider purpose in football development and school coaching.
From the court to the pitch.
Al-Caliph Football Club was founded in November 2006 by a group of family and friends who played regularly at a street soccer court. From those beginnings, the club moved into organised competitions and social leagues.
The club competed in Sunsports tournaments before finishing third in the 2008 NWSS league and receiving its Fair Play trophy. In 2010, Al-Caliph won the Fair Challenge championship. Later seasons took the team into D2D leagues. The football archive tells that story through original reports and photographs.
A football center with a coaching purpose.
Al-Caliph is a sole-proprietor business used for coaching work, including bids for school coaching opportunities. School teams and programmes have been managed under the Al-Caliph Football Center banner.
The historical academy material describes a focus on ball mastery, coordination, technique, awareness and movement, alongside character and confidence. That football development purpose informs the coaching section of this site.
