by Sahfahri Al-Caliph played an inspired game even with the lack of key players, Doc and Mahadi, in the backline to net a 1-0 win against a resilient BlackJack team. The game against them was the third successive victory that they earned in the NWSS league. The sweltering heat almost knocked the team out yet the team stayed focused throughout the match to earn their third successive clean sheet.
The first half proved to be a shaky affair, as the team looked sluggish on the start and begun to leak in the defence. They almost let through 2 clear chances for Blackjack to strike which were fortunately saved by the man of the match, Sahfahri. Al-Caliph scored their first goal through a tap in after a fumble by the keeper from a 30m free kick by Khai. Chances from Al-Caliph was few and far between, the better of the chances in the first half fell to the opposition almost converting a corner saved by Sahfahri.
The first 5 minutes of the second half proved to be an exciting affair when Dinesh almost converted 2 chances; this time the opposing goalkeeper on his toes to keep the scores down. The midfield looked much more pumped up with Farhan on the flanks and Fauzi playing centre. It was great to see the team playing its usual brand of attacking football. The game ended on a high with a well deserved win. With that the team wishes Sahfahri and Zhafran farewell for their trip to ROC.
