by Nic A 5-0 scoreline denotes an emphatic victory yet again for us and another stroll in the park game inside the bag. However it was distinctly evident was that we had to toil and work instead of casually stroking the ball around, having fun and adding to the tally. As mentioned by a couple of players, we were in control of the game at half-time with a 3-0 lead, and we should dictate the tempo instead of always trying to play it quick and rush into counter attacking. Yes, this learning to control the pace could perhaps been achieved if Fauzi was around, a Scholes mould of a player; not that others are not up to the job.
Credit goes to khai for setting the momentum in our favour with an individual effort from the left to open our account, kudos to faizal for the excellent through ball on the left flank. This was especially important was it helped us to settle down as we adapted faster and better than Strips.
Shy managed to dispatch a controlled volley into the top corner of the net after some good work in the 6 yard area by khai in providing the assist. This was the moment I started betting with Safari that perhaps today we could buy -3.5 on the half goal ticket for al- Caliph. However I was gladly wronged in my judgment as Safari’s -4.5 goals proved to be the exact and better result.
The third goal by khai came courtesy of a through ball my faizal down the centre which their dc failed to control and clear, leaving khai to ghost pass him for another beautiful goal. ala -Torres man. Or Anelka in his Arsenal days if you are a gunners fan. (thanks for the miss!)
After a relatively quiet first half by rafie, he turned provider this time for the 4th goal scored by Wan. The 5th goal was scored by Zhaf after a deflection through a sea of defenders. Credit to Zhaf for being at the right place at the right time to fire in that shot. Perhaps it doesn’t matter how it goes in, just that it ultimately crosses the line to be counted.
