Despite the scorching morning sun in addition to our fasting Muslim brothers, Al Caliph managed to pull off yet another decisive victory which in turn giving us the right to call ourselves champions. Al Caliph went on the attacking mode right from the start. We wasted lots of chances and some of us might be thinking, will it be 1 of those days?? However, just before the half time whistle, we got a free kick approximately 25m from the goal. Khai strucked the ball sweetly and again, our top goalscorer scored. It was the morale boost we needed just before half time.
2nd half started rather dreadfully and we were slow off the mark. We did not use the advantage we had and Nautical FC managed to bounce back. It seems like they were determined to get at least a point from us. They managed to draw even with a defence splitting 1-two. It was quite a goal i must admit, simple yet clinical. It seems like Al Caliph needed a big push after that goal and the players on the field and off it never disappoint. I'm proud to say that we pushed 1 another and we had the drive to seal off the campaign. We were back to our usual self after some yelling and pushing by the ever so hardworking Zhafran. the peace loving Shai and the ever so patient Razif. Dinesh came back into the team and did not disappoint.
A pinpoint corner taken found Dinesh's head and he never missed. Al Caliph led yet again. Shortly after, Khai won a penalty which Mr Zamri duly converted. Al Caliph began to believe once again that we can do it no matter what. However, the opponent managed to pull 1 back before the ever so brilliant Zamri scored with a wonderful effort from a way out. At the full time whistle, we knew what we had achieved and we were proud of ourselves. Selamat Hari Raya
