A victory for Al-Caliph FC against Gloucester Rangers with the scoreline of 3-0. First half started off brightly as chances came but the final ball was not converted. That did not stop the team as a quarter of the match thru, Khai made a run down the left flank and got in a cross. It was met by the outstretch legs of Nash guiding the ball to the back of the net. GOAL!! More chances came but lady luck was not there for the finishing. The guys saw off a exhilarating first half 1-0.
Second half started and we pick up where we left off. AlCaliph pile on the pressure looking for the second goal but our opponent was resilient as they persist to look for the equalizer. Chances came but not taken. We were awarded a penalty, a foul against Nash gave the team a chance to increase our lead to 2 goals. Ayat stepped up to the penalty spot he scores, oh no the refree spotted one of our players stepping into the box too early which means Ayat had to retake the kick. Sadly the opponent keeper kept it out. Last quarter of the game khai found Ayat who ran into the pocket of space between the centre backs, keeping his composure he placed it to the top right hand corner, Yes!! 2-0 to us.
The game continued both teams taking turns attacking wave after wave. Right at the dead, Bull took a shot at goal. Saved and rebounded. The opponent's defender shielded the ball calling his keeper to come and get it. But Nash was quick to react and seized the opportunity by approaching the back of the defender. He sneaked the ball in for the third goal of the game. That was the last action of the game.
Great job to all the Muslim players in the team, even though they were fastin they sure gave their all in the game. Congrats to the team our first clean sheet. Let's keep this up and continue pushing on.
