It rained.
SO the brave warriors of Al-Caliph started off strong in the first half, good passing rhythm with drive to win possesion.
Somehow the Voda-rians with Master Voda yelling at them from the side-lines scored first. A powerful shot from outside the box, Safuan dives, the ball takes a defelection and lands in our goal while we looked on despairingly. 1-0 to Voda United.
Several attempts at goal boosted our confidence and eventually Zamri put one in after a brilliant long throw-in from Zul. Jumping higher than the two defenders attempting to sandwich him, Zamri cooly headed the ball past the keeper and into the net. 1-1.
Both teams were now spurred on to get more goals. The Voda-rians had their opportunities but failed to capitalise on them. The second goal for us came just before the break. After a good passing move by Al-Caliph, Tyrus being out of position and in the centre of midfield, fed the ball to Nadeem who was racing towards the goal from his wide position. Nadeem pushed on into the Voda-rian goal box before placing the ball to the (almost) top right corner and beyond the Voda-rian keeper's reach.
Into the second half. Play started to get messy. Passes began to go astray and tensions were rising. Sensing this, the Voda-rians attacked with more vigour. They had several good chances, some of them came after we carelessly gave the ball away, but their shots skewed wide or were held in the safe hands of our keeper.
The third goal came from a penalty after a cross from Omar into the penalty box made contact with a Voda-rian's hand. Khai stepped up and placed the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal just below the the keeper's flailing arms.
Final score 3-1 Al-Caliph. Great job Warriors.
