We won our second fixture with Strips with a convincing 5-0 scoreline.

We were better and composed in the first half. We passed the ball well going forward creating chances but failed to capitalise on a number of occassion. We managed to get the goals after some quick incisive passing from defence to attack. We were up by 3 before half time.

We fared a lot worse in the second half. This is due to poor decision making. Very poor. We should have picked the nearest and the easiest mate to pass the ball but we chose the push the ball across central midfield. A lot of times the ball was intercepted. Switching will be mentioned in my next post.

We had a lot of chances. A lot of it but failed to kill off the opponent early. At times we could have laid it off to a mate, we didnt. I already said, if a mate has more chances of hitting the target then you have, lay it off. However, we managed to score 2 more goals. I will reward Zhaf with the last goal.

Highlights The defence put up a good show yet again. Another zero concede. If I had not seen that game mentioned in previous post, I would be still be asking how come we lost with 5 goals. I am glad that the team acknowledge the defence's contribution.

I believe in a strong defence. In order to win a game, we need to score goals. At the same time, the defence has to be tight to allow the attack to continue push forward to search for goals. This was evident when we played against a stubborn defence that finally broke later in the game.

Razif is good. I know what he can do. Sometime he is over elaborate and fitness is always telling. And now he got the Deva-hand syndrome. Unnecessary.

Sawifi had a poor game by his standard. When a dc covers your position, you move to his position unless it is covered. If that was so, then move behind the person covering you in case the opponent is able to pass.

Khai was pointing or directing play. He even told Deva to push the ball back when faced with too many defenders. I have observed a number of characteristics have been displayed whenever Khai is made captain. The game saw Khai near to what he was when we played Marceles, Musketeers and Veteran. Although it was much better than previous games, I know he could have done much better in the performance aspect.

This applies to everyone, I know the level of which each of you can play as I have seen it. Some are improving but some are stagnant or degrading at times.

Faizal is one who has been consistent and provided that extra spark in the attack. I am impressed. Yesterday, Rafie had an impact on the game after such a while.

Summary A lot still need to improve. We cant be riding on the coat tails of a few forever. What happens if they have a bad day? Therefore everyone is important. Whether the team make or break, the onus is on you. Again I ask, how far you going for the team?

The team did well to score 3-0 in the first half. It is the impetus to bring in the reserves who played little football but still come week in week out. This is a responsible and considerate first half performance whether or not it is by accident or design.

It is rather unfortunate we couldnt basked even with a 5-0 victory. Still congratulations on a winning start to the second legs.

Other Business Zul Cina is fined $10. He informed me that he has paid it immediately after being substituted. "Dah agak mesti kena punya." (I am sure I would be fined.)

Next Game We might be playing on 1st June even without our regulars. By regulars I mean players I can count on to come for the game week in week out. I will confirm this again. I rather play so as not to prolong the tournament but I need assurances that I will have at least 14-16 men.

The following I spoke to who were not present during the game are available for 1st June; Aizad, Hairil and Dinesh. I am still trying to get Farhan. He is not answering my calls.
