It was a game to cleanse ourselves of last year's debacle and boy we did it albeit the hard way.
First half we were very poor. The 2 weeks layoff has put some rust into the team. Passes were astray and we didnt communicate. Decisions were off and we put ourselves into constant pressure as we keep losing the ball. The half ended scoreless.
We started the second half with more gusto. We were on the attack. However, from their corner, they scored. A mistake of not covering and challenging for the ball.
We fought on. Fahmie got the ball in midfield and squared to Bob who crossed. Shy atoned for his poor defensive mistake by scoring on the rebound off the bar by Aliff's header.
We were on all cylinders. Faizal once again worked very hard. He passed the ball to Dinesh in the center. Faizal ran inside and got the return pass. He in turn pass to Aliff to slot in our second.
Third goal, once again from Faizal to Aliff. Enough said.
Fourth goal was ala Dossena as Jeff got the ball from Z and with one bounce lobbed the ball into the net. 4-1 final score.
Once again, the team showed a mean fighting spirit. Kudos to all. Special mention to Dinesh and Malik for performing above expectations especially Dinesh who was not afraid.
Man of the Match On today's game, two players vie for the Man of the Match, Khairil and Faizal. I have decided to give it to Faizal for his outstanding performance once again, for chasing lost causes and made something out of nothing. Three times it has ended as goals. Kudos. Maybe marriage life made him more settle. Should bring his wife often.
Captain has been fined $10 for setting a bad example of being late.
