Al-Caliph started well when we scored inside 5 minutes through Z and added another soon after through Jeff. After that two quickfire goals, our luck struck out and the half ended scrappy. We couldnt hold the ball and lost it frequently.
Second-half got underway and not much change. Maybe the change in personnel cause some disarray. However, fundamentals should be the same. We somehow couldnt execute simple passes and a handful of chances went begging.
In a moment of indecisiveness in defence saw the opponent scored. 2-1. We pushed on and was rewarded when ur debutant Aliff scored 2 goals. We missed a couple of sitters thereafter again. Game ended 4-1.
Game Objective I had a couple of objectives for the game as I know we would be able to achieve. I wouldnt have placed it if I had known otherwise. One was achieve while we were short on the other. We were, again, unable to capitalise on our superiority in numbers early on. As the game wore on, as the captain aptly pointed out, we were not focus and were playing like in training sessions.
Possibly the mass change in personnel causes disruption in the setup. However, it was an opportunity for the players to show what they are able to contribute to the team during the game. I was glad that all bar one was able to play.
It is my hope that the same number will be present for future games. This will help us getting accustomed to one another's play during the game.
Debut And yes, we have decided to welcome Aliff to our team. With more games, he will gain fitness and grow accustom to our play. He adds a different touch to our game which would be crucial in tight games. So do welcome him when you see him.
